roclub is a Berlin-based healthtech company whose platform enables MRI and CT scans to be carried out remotely.

The platform helps healthcare organisations improve access to specialist expertise, create more flexible working models and reduce pressure caused by staff shortages.

Due to confidentiality, I can’t show detailed product screens or private platform workflows. This page focuses on my role, the public context around roclub, and the product areas I supported.

At a glance

  • I worked with roclub as a solo freelance designer from 2022 to 2025, taking over from the original MVP designer and continuing the product design across the main web platform, live remote session interface and software MVP for its physical Connector.

  • I helped simplify complex teleoperation workflows across remote and in-hospital radiology settings, supporting a product used across software, hardware and live clinical environments.

  • During my time working with roclub, the company announced over €6m in funding, including a €2m pre-seed round and a €4m seed round led by Speedinvest and FJ Labs.*

Project overview

I worked with roclub as a solo freelance UI/UX designer from 2022 to 2025, taking over from the original MVP designer and continuing the design of a complex healthtech product across software, hardware and live remote radiology workflows.

My work covered roclub’s core web platform, the live session interface used during remote MRI/CT workflows, the MVP for its Marketplace feature, and the software MVP for the physical roclub Connector touchscreen device. Together, these areas supported a platform used by healthcare organisations, internal radiology teams, remote radiographers and external freelance specialists.

A key part of the work was simplifying highly technical teleoperation workflows without removing the precision needed in a clinical environment. The UX needed to help users understand session readiness, connection states, available actions, staffing requirements and system feedback, while keeping the interface clear and dependable during live operational scenarios.

I also worked on the Marketplace MVP, which helps healthcare organisations find external radiographers when internal capacity is limited. This added another layer of complexity to the platform, as detailed timetabling had to account for temporary staffing, session-based availability and the operational requirements of both healthcare teams and freelance radiographers.

Alongside the main platform, I designed the software MVP for roclub’s custom Connector hardware, which supports remote teleoperation workflows in clinical environments. This required designing for a dedicated touchscreen interface with its own technical constraints, rather than a standard web or mobile layout.

I also designed a set of custom icons for the device’s cable port engravings, helping make the hardware easier to understand for in-hospital staff.

Result

Although I’m unable to show detailed product screens publicly, the project gave me extensive experience designing for a specialised healthcare product where usability, trust, system clarity and operational confidence were central to the user experience.

During my time working with roclub, the company announced significant funding, providing public evidence of the product’s momentum while I was supporting the design of the platform.
